Holland

March 30, 1853 - November 24, 1885.

Vincent van Gogh spent much of his life in the Netherlands, where he was born and raised. The Dutch countryside and its people had a significant impact on his early work, with many of his paintings expressing rural settings and peasant life. Van Gogh's time in Holland laid the foundation for his creative style and subject matter, which would later evolve and mature during his time in France.
